I love this tray, so much so that I bought two.First off, let's address the complaints others have posted in reviews;1- It doesn't hold 1/2 sockets, nor does it hold 3/8 IMPACT socketsCorrect - it holds 3/8 sockets as described; it will not hold 1/2 sockets, it won't hold 3/8 impact sockets, it will hold your 1/4 sockets but they won't be tight fitting and likely lean to one side2- It isn't magneticCorrect - it is not magnetic at all; no magnetic components in the bottom of the tray, inside the tray, sides, etc - it is not stated to be magnetic in the description. It holds 3/8 sockets tightly when on a flat horizontal surface such as your tool cabinet drawers. It does have a eyelet at the top, but it couldn't be used on a pegboard or nail/screw and hold the sockets without them falling out. My guess is that Hansen has the eyelet there so it can be placed on pegs for retailers to sell.So what is so great about this tray?Well it organizes your Metric and SAE Hex and Torx sockets for easy retrieval. Some people like rails for their sockets Personally I find rails outdated and difficult for quick retrieval; this tray allows you to retrieve and replace the socket with little effort. I like all the Hansen products for socket storage and retrieval, they all allow for high organization and easy retrieval. Hansen makes quality products that are MADE IN THE USA!Let's be honest this really is a specialty item designed for tools most Harry or Harriet Homeowners won't have in their tool inventory. However, if you are reviewing this, you most certainly know tools, you know how to use them, and you'll find this tray a very valuable addition to your tool chest. So why did I purchase two of these when this is a in essence a specialty item for specialty tools? We'll I have a number of 3/8 specialty sockets such as Torx security or tamper bits and a single tray simply doesn't have enough space to add them. The tray will accommodate, what I'll call, a normal or standard set of Metric and SAE Hex and Torx socket bits, but outside of those "normal" sizes it doesn't allow for additional sockets. I does have 2 spare and unmarked tray holes but again, that simply isn't enough. My only fault with Hansen is they don't make this in 1/2 and 1/4 drive size, or even oversize holes for impact sockets. Otherwise, Hansen delivers again! If you are OCD about tools and your storage of those tools, you'll want one of these in your tool chest.
